Results, a Race and Another Challenge!!

So the contest is over!

When I started this Flab to Fab Contest I looked like this:

And this is me now after the 8 weeks:

And the Stats:

Before:

Waist- 46 inches
Hips- 47.5 inches
Bust- 41.5 inches
Thigh(R)- 31 inches
Upper Arm(L)- 13.5 inches

After:

Waist- 34 inches
Hips- 43 inches
Bust- 38 inches
Thigh(R)- 28 inches
Upper Arm(L)- 12.5 inches

That's 24 inches lost in all!
(Even though the weight itself just about evened itself out.)

Now I'm up for another challenge.

I've just signed up for London Personal Trainer Dax Moy's 30 day M.A.P (Metabolic Acceleration Protocol) fat loss challenge and as part of it, I'll be blogging my way through.
Dax has done some great programs in the past and I'm really excited to commit fully to trying this one!

I have no doubt that it will live up to being a challenge because included in the off-limits foods are
* Caffeine
*Alcohol
*Dairy
*Wheat Products
*Processed Food
*Sugar

Yes, you read that right. Wheat, processed food and sugar. Not to mention that we're not supposed to use the microwave....Oy vey.

I'm up to the challenge though and have agreed to stick to it for 30 days.

Oh! I also ran in another race today!!

It was a mile long race through downtown San Rafael which meant I had to get up at 5:15 this morning to drive there in time for the 7:20 start.
My time was 15:18 which while not my best time still shows how far I've come.
I was by far the last one (in the 18 and under age category) but as I was running someone was yelling "You're an inspiration!"
It was really great to hear that as just last night I was debating if I really wanted to show up knowing that it could be embarrassing being the last one to come in.
Then I remember where I was a mere year ago when the doctors were looking into getting me a cane so that I might be able to walk around the block again.
The idea of walking around the block was HUGE and scary.

And now I'm busy preparing for the San Francisco Marathon's 5k/Progressive Marathon.
The progressive marathon means that from now until race day (July 25th) I have to complete 23.1 miles on my own (my sister who'll be doing the race with me will be completing her own 23.1 miles) and track them and then do the final 3.1 miles (5k) on race day.
So by the end of next month I will have completed a progressive marathon!

Today I realized that I need to look in the mirror realize where I've been, where I am now and the potential I have for the future.

Here 'goes!!

Peace, Love and Skinny Jeans,
Krissy
